Although having served more than one term, President Truman addressed the nation only once during his inaugurational ceremony. This is because he took office the first time following the mid-term death of FDR. To listen, watch, or read his inuagural address here . It is interesting to note that this was the first televised Presidential Inaugural Address ever televised, which could explain why he speaks not only to the United States, but to the world in promoting the freedoms of democracy and the false hope that communism offers.
